We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition on the 120th anniversary of the birth of Jindřich Halabala. Tuesday, 9 May 2023 at 6 pm, KUMST Brno, Údolní 495/19, Brno We are pleased that Modernista, as the holder of the exclusive license for the production of new originals based on Mr. Halabala's original designs, can participate in this unique presentation. The exhibition will feature many pieces of furniture from our workshops, including the iconic H-269 armchair and others. The exhibition Timeless Design: Jindřich Halabala and UP Plants will commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Brno architect, whose life is inextricably linked to the United Art and Industrial Plants in Brno, where he worked as a designer from 1930 and was also responsible for the composition of the company's product range. As part of his employment, he was also involved in the promotion and presentation of the company, and his comprehensive concept of residential culture is still alive and inspiring today. Halabal's work was presented in a basic framework in the exhibition for the 100th anniversary of his birth in 2003 and then in other smaller exhibitions. This year's exhibition project focuses on Jindřich Halabala's designs and UP brand products that can be described as timeless. The organisers' intention is to combine a look into history with a presentation of contemporary activities associated with Halabala's name and to point out the inspirational legacy for the future: the elegant, practical furniture of Jindřich Halabala may also be of interest to contemporary designers, manufacturers, collectors and restorers.
