An outstanding architect, urban planner, designer and educator. He was a leading theoretician of the Czech Cubist movement. He saw the sloping surfaces and crystalline shapes of Cubism as an expression of the presence of human spiritual power overcoming the formative forces of nature.

Josef Gočár (1880-1945) occupies a leading position in the history of Czech architecture in the first half of the 20th century. Although he found the application of his skills mainly in architecture, his designs for furniture, clocks and lighting fixtures from 1911 to 1920 in many cases defined Czech Cubism as an independent style.

The industrial designer and architect Willem Hendrik Gispen (1890-1981) started his activity in 1916 with an artistic blacksmith's workshop in Rotterdam. The first products were mostly utilitarian objects in wrought iron, copper or bronze.

Academic painter Jožka Baruch was born on 28 July 1892 in Krásno nad Bečvou. He graduated from the State Vocational School for Woodworking in Valašské Meziříčí as a figure and ornamental carver.

Adolf Matura (1921-1979) was actively involved in several glass disciplines, he is known as a creator of cut and engraved glass and designer of pressed glass, but his designs also include a set of cups with a teapot made of boiling glass.

Leading Czech designer, famous for his designs of utilitarian and figurative porcelain. One of the representatives of the Brussels style. He represented Czechoslovakia very successfully at the 1958 World Expo, after which this style is often referred to, and took home two important awards. Jaroslav Ježek (1925-2002) was born in the village of Podlesí near Příbram.
