Jindřich Halabala's functionalist furniture for the United Arts and Crafts Works in Brno is undoubtedly one of the most important pieces of furniture produced by the Czech furniture industry in the twentieth century. The clearly unforgettable name of the architect, designer and teacher Jindřich Halabala is also synonymous with the development of the mass market for furniture in the Czech Republic. On 9 May, a unique exhibition entitled Timeless Design: Jindřich Halabala and UP Plants will open at the KUMST gallery in Brno, commemorating 120 years since his birth.
