Author's jewellery Michaela Gorcová

Michaela has been designing and making jewellery since 1996, when she was accepted to the Metal and Jewellery Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under Prof. K. V. Novák. At the school she tried various artistic techniques and got acquainted with new interesting technologies. She works with precious metals, titanium and especially with stainless steel. She adds colourful variations to jewellery by electroplating and coaxing. Gold plating gives the jewellery a touch of exclusivity, silver plating a dreamy atmosphere of a winter landscape, and the silver-grey metallic shade of ruthenium adds an attractive touch to the jewellery. Gorcová is not afraid of any technique. An idea that crystallizes over a long period of time has to come first. Then she tries to chic it up into the most perfect form with respect to the jewellery. She tries to go beyond the traditional techniques of jewellery making and is not afraid to go beyond them. Jewellery by Michaela Gorcova can be found in almost all of our design shops.
