Jaroslav Ježek is a leading Czech creator of figurative and utilitarian porcelain and one of the founders of the so-called Brussels style at the turn of the 1950s and 1960s. During his lifetime he created more than a hundred designs of small sculpture. The shape of his figurines is dominated by an elegant curve, usually emphasising the movement or typical position of the animal depicted. He usually intended his figures to be monochrome, or in a combination of two contrasting colours. The specific products are available at the shop in the Museum of Decorative Arts.
